Privacy Policy

Who I am

This is the privacy policy of Sam's Services (“we”, “me”, “I”). I’m Samuel, a mobile mechanical engineer and vehicle specialist based in Northampton / Kettering, UK. When you book a job, get in touch, or use this website, you share some personal information with me. This page explains exactly what I collect, why, and what I do (and don’t do) with it.

If anything is unclear, please email me at hello@sam.espeezy.com.

What information I collect

From this website (sam.espeezy.com):

  • Booking form submissions: your name, email, phone number, address or location, the service you want, and any message you choose to send.
  • Basic server logs (IP address, user agent, pages visited) kept briefly by Cloudflare to operate and protect the site.

When we work together:

  • Information you share about the vehicle, equipment, or property I’m working on (registration, make, model, fault description).
  • Records of the work done, parts fitted, photos for my own records, and the invoice.

Why I collect it

  • To respond to your enquiry and book a slot.
  • To carry out the work you’ve asked me to do.
  • To send you an invoice and keep basic accounting records.
  • To meet legal obligations (e.g. tax records, the 90-day workmanship warranty).

What I never do with your data

  • I never sell your data to anyone.
  • I never share it with marketers, data brokers, or advertising networks.
  • I don’t run third-party analytics or tracking scripts on this site.

Who I share it with

Only the parties I need to do the job:

  • Cloudflare — hosts the site and processes the email sent from the booking form via their Email Sending service.
  • Parts suppliers and MOT centres — only the minimum information needed (e.g. a vehicle registration to order a part) and only with your knowledge.
  • HMRC / my accountant — invoice data, as required by UK tax law.

If a lawful request compels me to share information (court order, police investigation), I will only share what is strictly required and, where lawful, tell you about it.

How long I keep it

Booking enquiries that don’t turn into jobs are deleted within 6 months. Invoices and the work records attached to them are kept for 6 years, in line with HMRC rules.

Photos and diagnostic reports are kept only as long as they’re useful to me and you (typically 2 years after a job), and then deleted unless you ask me to keep them for longer.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

  • Ask what I hold about you (a “subject access request”).
  • Have incorrect data corrected.
  • Ask me to delete data I’m not legally required to keep.
  • Object to processing or ask me to restrict it.
  • Complain to the ICO if you’re unhappy with how I’ve handled your data.

To exercise any of these, just email hello@sam.espeezy.com. I’ll come back within 30 days.

Cookies

This site does not set tracking or advertising cookies. It does set a small “theme” preference (light vs. dark) in your browser so the site remembers your choice between visits. Cloudflare may set strictly necessary security cookies at the edge; these are not used for tracking.

Changes to this policy

I may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always be on this page with a revised “last updated” date. If the change is material, I’ll let active customers know by email.
